Jim represents commercial banks and other financial lending institutions. He counsels clients in all types of commercial lending, including real estate, acquisition and construction, asset based, commercial and industrial loans. His expertise encompasses owned real estate, real estate conveyance, foreclosures, loan workouts and sales of distressed debt. Jim also provides real estate advice to both established and start-up companies throughout Massachusetts. His extensive experience in commercial leasing includes office, warehouse and life science leases. 

Jim began his legal career in the litigation department of Nutter, McClennen & Fish. Later, he worked at RECOLL Management Corporation, a Fleet Bank subsidiary, handling general real estate matters, as well as property leasing, dispositions and foreclosures. Jim brings to his practice an understanding of client concerns, and a pragmatic approach to resolving issues that can arise in commercial transactions. Jim has been repeatedly listed as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.

Jim is a member of the bar in Massachusetts. He received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University (1982), and his J.D. from Boston University (1986), where he was an editor
of the Law Review.
